Joel is a distinguished cybersecurity researcher, penetration tester, and educator with more than 15 years of experience in system administration, security, and consulting. His academic and research background is highlighted by his Ph.D., which produced a framework for designing dynamically generated penetration testing laboratories. His current research is focused on offensive security skills development, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field.

Joel specialises in a wide range of areas, including web applications and services, cloud security, network assessments, social engineering, physical security (utilising non-destructive entry methods), and vulnerability assessments. Leveraging his extensive expertise, he has spearheaded the development and delivery of the security testing training program at CyberCX.
