Leanne commenced in the role of Commissioner ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) in January 2025. In this role, Leanne is responsible for management of over 550 staff and 1200 adult detainees / offenders at the Alexander Maconochie Centre and under supervision in the community. In addition, Leanne is Deputy Chair at Australian Volunteers International (AVI) and Chair of AVIs People & Culture Committee.  She is also a non-executive member and Chair of BRAKE Drive Awareness and is a member of the Victorian Government External Advisory Panel on Countering Violent Extremism.

Prior to commencing as Commissioner ACTCS, Leanne was a non-executive Director of various Australian government and NFP boards, audit, risk and other committees.  Leanne is a former Australian Federal Police (AFP) officer with over 33 years policing experience, culminating as Deputy Commissioner from 2014-2019.  During this time, as Deputy Commissioner National Security, Leanne was the AFP representative at the Australia /New Zealand Counter-Terrorism Committee.  

In 2016, Leanne undertook a 12-month secondment to the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department leading the Criminal Justice Group. From 2015-2019, Leanne co-chaired the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing.
