Dr Veronika Kolek Netolická serves as the Cyber Attaché for the Indo-Pacific region, representing the Czechia's National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) at the Embassy in Canberra. In this role, she fosters international cooperation on cybersecurity, engages with strategic partners across Asia and Oceania, and contributes to shaping global cyber norms.
NÚKIB is the Czechia’s central authority for cybersecurity and information protection. It develops national cyber strategies, oversees the security of critical information infrastructure, and leads international cyber diplomacy efforts. The agency also manages the governmental CERT (GovCERT), coordinates cyber exercises, and supports public education on digital resilience.
Veronika brings deep expertise in cyber policy, strategic analysis, and international relations. Prior to her diplomatic posting, she led the department for national strategies and policies at NÚKIB, where she helped craft the Czechia's cybersecurity frameworks. She holds a master’s degree in security and strategic studies from Masaryk University and has recently completed a Ph.D. focused on cybersecurity threat analysis.
Her global perspective is shaped by academic and professional experiences in Vietnam, Germany, and Japan, including her participation in the George C. Marshall Center’s Program on Cybersecurity Studies and the Young Leaders Program at GRIPS in Tokyo. Veronika is a frequent speaker at international forums and a passionate advocate for inclusive cyber diplomacy. She is also an active member of Women4Cyber Czechia, where she advocates for greater gender diversity and inclusion in the cybersecurity field.
